Scrambling is the nearest a mountaineer can get to rock climbing without needing a big rack of expensive equipment yet it enables us to venture onto steep areas of rock which create walls, ridges and gullies. Scramblers can encounter exposure, steepness & lose rock and sometimes all three. This means that moving on scrambling ground requires both personal confidence and a sound judgement to create our safe passage but the rewards can be stupendous; with the exhilaration of having climbed on what might have seemed improbable ground with the potential for stunning views largely unseen by walkers.

Andy will discuss your ideas, gain an understanding of your past experience and if necessary recommend a short preparation session of at least 1/2 day (from £100 per person) before attempting your chosen route. He reserves the right to abandon the route if, in his view, conditions and/or a client's movement presents issues of safety.
