The Cairngorms

Amongst the deep corries beneath the sweeping plateau of The Cairngorms lie numerous large crags fringed with excellent ridges offering highly entertaining and not too technical climbing.

'Afterthought Arete' @ Moderate grade on Stag Rocks

'Ptarmigan Ridge' @ Difficult grade on Lurcher's Crag

'Black Spout Buttress' @ Difficult grade on Lochnagar

Please note that you will need to be prepared for these hill days with previous experience of scrambling and rope skills, inc. abseiling, to get the benefit of your guided days. We would recommend that you need to be confident moving over extensive sections of exposed, narrow and sometimes steep Grade 1 & 2 scrambling terrain.  Some Grade 3 and climbing of Moderate / Difficult terrain will be done whilst roped-up. Abseiling may be involved on these routes.

Andy will discuss your ideas, gain an understanding of your past experience and if necessary recommend a short preparation session of at least 1/2 day (from £100 per person) before attempting your chosen route. He reserves the right to abandon the route if, in his view, conditions and/or a client's movement presents issues of safety.
